Well, all of the hoopla surrounding the election has finally paid off. We have a new President. Not only a Democrat, but the 1st Black President to ever take office. President Elect Barack Obama. I, along with many other millions of people, voted for Obama because we wanted change for our country...for our future. But most of all I voted for Obama because I wanted something to change for Darren. I want things to be easier for him.
I was in Darren's room changing his diaper at 8:02pm, when Arbi said ,"He WON, He WON!!!" and I ran out with Darren in my hands and just had the hugest smile on my face. Then I started crying...I was so happy that what all of us Americans wanted had finally happened. History was made that day and I cant wait until January 20th, 2009 when Obama is sworn in as our 44th President of the United States!
